Faith And Hope

Faith and Hope

Existence had reared
its head in me
but yet again
in its vain effort
of the need to
look at itself
through me
failed.

I failed
as my mind
interfering
in the ego
of its analytics
and conclusions
interfered
with the divine
escaping
in the name
of need for
vocation- career.

It takes
but a lot of courage
to have unflinching
faith and hope
and effort
to steer
the mind
out of 'Its' way.

Truth be told

Truth be told

I and facing me
in the mirror
just him and me and I
look into his eyes
in my mind's eye,
and search for any
wrinkle on his face
and I,
I am but confounded
for between the two
of us, in the end,
the whole point is
who emerges
winner,
inspite of who we are
truth be told.

And I flinch
for I see myself
in it all
inspite of him
having his hold on me
him being the boss,
and me just
a titular
head
with nothing of me
about me
to my credit, or his.

The mirror
hanging on the wall
shows cracks on the face,
my face,
of broken images
of me
on myself.

Wait dear judge
let me dress up
my face, even out
my wrinkles
and let me stand tall
and beaming.

Yes it is okay now,
judge.

And together, we'd have done it all

I and myself
we sit down a very
once in a big gap
of a time
and often we talk
If we'd been
together
you would have said
about how lovely it all is
and I
I would have said yes.

You'd have been
surprised
at the strange things
I had
to show.

You'd have
laughed
at the long stories
I had
to tell.

You'd have cried
sobbed
at the short sorrows
I had
made you feel.

And together
we'd have
fulfilled
our destiny.

I can almost touch it

I can almost touch it

Was noon yet it felt like dusk
And the fogs rolled in and out
Against the washed out dark hills
As it started to beat in big drops
Against the only umbrella we were snugged below
With your left and my right shoulder
Prevented from being wet
By my left and your right hand.
And the thunder kept booming ahead
Yet how can I forget
The firm resolve, the invincible desire
To walk the long arduous trying path
Together beating tide breaking against us
Against the murky overcast gloom
Drowning the belief so strong in us
Of a clear sparkling bright
Land of balanced tranquility
At the end of the road.
Just like it will be once again,
And I can almost touch it.

Memoirs Of Yore

Memoirs Of Yore

Another morning
Breezing dry air
Of hot summer
Nightingale twoo too ing
The ultimate of thirst
Of parched westerlies
Heating up the lands
As dry as can be
so high as to deafen
the twoo too.

In the farms of golden wheat
Fearing rain
In the dry land
Of dried lips
You thrashing the bushels
And I am harvesting.

How lighted it was
That late April night
As I throw the husk
Into the burning ambers
When you brought
A cup of steaming tea
To drown the thirst
Of gallons
Of water.
When the thunder squalls
Beat the tarmac
Covering the wheat
With stones,
Mission accomplished.

And I knew
How much you loved me
How much we cared
How much
We belonged together
In that lovely night.

Warmth

Warmth

Your breathing
Into my neck,
Around my ears
With rejuvenating
Warmth,
Melting the thawed
Ice that had frosted
Into aloofness,
Loneliness,
Of long
Harsh and dry
Winters,
When even birds
forgot to sing
Of the imminent
Predators
Warning their prey.
With everything frozen
Into grey.
And you
Bringing me back
To life
To affirm
In my place
In existence.

And She Will Sing Tomorrow

And She Will Sing Tomorrow

From toddler to school
To college, to work
Across changing years
Places, people
All
Lost into mist
Yet the Thrush
All along, in her songs
Every morning, making everything
Long gone
So real, so happening
Delivering back
Every exhaled breath
In a condensed joy.
