Warmth

Warmth

Your breathing
Into my neck,
Around my ears
With rejuvenating
Warmth,
Melting the thawed
Ice that had frosted
Into aloofness,
Loneliness,
Of long
Harsh and dry
Winters,
When even birds
forgot to sing
Of the imminent
Predators
Warning their prey.
With everything frozen
Into grey.
And you
Bringing me back
To life
To affirm
In my place
In existence.

And She Will Sing Tomorrow

And She Will Sing Tomorrow

From toddler to school
To college, to work
Across changing years
Places, people
All
Lost into mist
Yet the Thrush
All along, in her songs
Every morning, making everything
Long gone
So real, so happening
Delivering back
Every exhaled breath
In a condensed joy.
